A Dream Fulfilled

Mr. Aron Breslow and family wrote the first letters of the Torah in January 2012

In 1980, Mr. Aron Breslow, a native of New Canaan, wrote a book entitled Religion U.S.A., which documents the diversity of religious life in America. The book included a collection of articles written by religious leaders in his hometown of New Canaan.

Through community sponsorships for the book, funds were raised funds were raised which helped form the basis of an organization called B’nai Torah (The children of the Torah).

In January 2012, B’nai Torah provided the funding to Chabad of New Canaan to commission a new Torah for the New Canaan Jewish Community, to be written in memory of the parents of Mr. Breslow, Mr. Meyer (Mike) Breslow and Mrs. Pearle Kantsiper Breslow.
